Could have design similarities with the Venue.
Expected features on board include auto AC, digitised driver’s display and a sunroof.
The CNG option should also be on the cards.
Expected to be priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
The Tata Punch is set to get a new rival. It’s coming from Hyundai Motor India and the carmaker has released the first teaser of the micro SUV (the launch of which is said to be imminent), although there’s still some waiting to do to get a proper glimpse of the car itself.
Previous sightings, including in India, have given us an idea about how the micro SUV will look. It is likely to have design similarities with the Venue, especially when it comes to the exterior. One differentiating element will be the H-shaped LED DRL, which obviously refers to “Hyundai.” Other common bits will likely include roof rails, two-tone alloy wheels and LED lighting.
Note: Grand i10 Nios' cabin used for reference
Being a Hyundai car, you can expect the micro SUV to be well equipped with features such as a sunroof, a digitised driver’s display, auto AC, a touchscreen system (likely an eight-inch unit), and cruise control. Other expected features include button start/stop, a premium sound system, and connected car tech.
Passenger safety is likely to be taken care of by multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a reversing camera.
A Petrol-only SUV

We are expecting it to get the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (83PS/114Nm) as the Grand i10 Nios, with the same five-speed MT and five-speed AMT options. Hyundai could also spice up the segment by providing the micro SUV with a 1-litre turbo-petrol unit. We believe a CNG option might be on the cards as well with the 1.2-litre engine.
