In 10 Images: MG Gloster Desertstorm Edition

MG India is all set to give the Gloster a mid-life makeover soon, but before we see the facelift on the roads, MG has added two special edition variants to its Storm lineup which currently consists of the Blackstorm edition. Now, the new Snowstorm edition and Desertstorm editions have been launched at a price of Rs 41.05 lakh (ex-showroom) with cosmetic tweaks done to the exterior and interior. In this in-depth image gallery, we take a closer look at the Desertstorm edition.

MG Gloster Desertstorm Exterior

The Gloster Desertstorm edition gets a Deep Golden colour with blacked-out accents all across. At the front, all the bling of the chrome makes way for an all black grille in piano black finish and a silver coloured skid garnish on the lower bumper lip.

The all-LED headlights now get black smoked internal treatment with red coloured inserts to give a sporty look.

The cosmetic changes done to the sides follow the blacked-out theme with roofrails, door handles and window sill garnish finished in gloss-black. Unlike the Snowstorm edition which gets a black roof and all black pillars, the Desertstrom carries them in body colour. The ORVMs also get a blacked out treatment with black and silver inserts. There’s a fender garnish strip along with ‘Desertstorm’ badging on the front fenders.

The 19-inch alloy wheels get an all black treatment with contrasting red brake callipers.

At the back, the Gloster Desertstorm gets a gloss black faux diffuser along with black coloured Gloster badging.

MG Gloster Desertstorm Interior

The most prominent difference from the standard variants is the interior colour. Unlike the tan interiors found on standard models, the Desertstorm edition gets an all-black interior hue. The dashboard and door inserts, all get black leather upholstery and faux carbon fibre and silver inlays in the centre console along with white stitching, similar to the one found in the Snowstorm edition also. 

Niceties include a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and an 8-inch instrument display encompassed between the analogue dials. 

The Gloster Desertstorm edition can be had in both 6 and 7 seater options unlike the Snowstorm edition which is offered in just a 7-seat configuration.

The MG Gloster comes with a variety of impressive features, such as a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and powered and ventilated front seats with a memory function for the driver. It also includes a 360-degree camera and ADAS Level 1 features like lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking. Additionally, both special editions can be further enhanced at the dealership level with options like a seat massager, themed carpet mats, and premium JBL speakers.

The MG Gloster Desertstorm can be opted in two different powertrains and two different seating configurations. The Gloster Desertstorm 4x2 variant gets a 2-litre turbo diesel engine producing 161 PS and 373 Nm and the 4x4 variant gets a 2-litre twin turbocharged diesel engine producing 215 PS and 478 Nm. Both of these engine options are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
