Six months after we talked about its possibility, Kawasaki has now globally updated the Z650RS, its beautiful retro bike, with a three-level traction control system. This update brings it on par with the updated Ninja 650 and the ADV Versys 650, both of which got traction control last year.
The updated Z650RS has also received a new Candy Medium Red colourway which looks stunning and will be a nice alternative for those who find the current Metallic Moonlight Grey a bit too subtle. Apart from that, the updated bike remains unchanged, with its 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin mill still making 68PS and 64Nm.
The Z650RS currently costs Rs 6.92 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, which is already pretty expensive, and with this update, we expect Kawasaki to ask around Rs 20,000 more. This segment has quite a lot of interesting bikes and its rivals include the twin-cylinder Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, three-cylinder Triumph Trident 660 and the inline-four Honda CB650R. Those wanting more Italian flair can consider the Moto Morini SEIEMMEZZO 6 ½.
