Citroen has announced Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the French carmaker’s brand ambassador. Along with that announcement, Dhoni, along with the French carmaker, has announced a new Fan Team called “Citroen Team Dhoni” to cheer Team India in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. Dhoni being the brand ambassador for the French brand could also make Citroen more popular on our shores.
Expressing his excitement towards this partnership, Dhoni said, “As a passionate automobile enthusiast, I am elated to join forces with iconic French brand Citroën, renowned world over for its innovation and engineering prowess. The brand shares my commitment to electric mobility and sustainable solutions and like me, focuses on doing what really matters. Citroën's philosophy of truly understanding customer needs and making meaningful innovations resonates deeply with me. I am thrilled to embark on this journey with Citroën, contributing to their legacy of 100+ years of innovation and excellence while driving towards a better, more sustainable future.”
Shishir Mishra, brand director, Citroen India, added "We are very excited to welcome Mahendra Singh Dhoni into the Citroen family. We believe that our association with one of India's finest cricketers, Dhoni, will go a long way in reinforcing our commitment to the Indian market.”
MS Dhoni, apart from his skills and cool-minded captaincy on the cricket field, is also known for his passion for cars and bikes. He has a collection of the best cars one could own, and it doesn't catch us by surprise that he is set to pair up with a car brand.
Citroen has a range of cars in India, priced from Rs 6.16 lakh to Rs 37.67 lakh (ex-showroom). The French carmaker offers the C3, C3 Aircross, and the C5 Aircross. The eC3 is the only EV offered by Citroen in India.
The Citroen Basalt, an SUV coupe, is Citroen’s next launch for India. It is expected to be priced around the Rs 11 lakh mark (ex-showroom), and will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv. Head over to our story to take a look at the upcoming Basalt.
