Indonesia-spec Ford Endeavour Specifications And Variants Detailed

The new-gen Ford Endeavour’s comeback to the Indian market still remains a question with no certain answers. However, there is still some hope that the Endy might make a comeback through a different route as the model has been spied here undisguised. As we wait for an answer, let’s take a look at the Ford Endeavour, called the ‘Everest’ in the Indonesian market. 

A Diesel Affair

The new-gen Endeavour gets the 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that churns out 210PS of power and 500Nm of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The massive torque output will make sure there is enough punch at all times for the large SUV. This particular engine is used by Ford for the Endy in other foreign markets as well. 

Ford does not offer the Endeavour with rear-wheel drive or any other engines in Indonesia such as the 2-litre single-turbo, 2.3-litre Ecoboost turbo-petrol and 3-litre V6 diesel engines which are offered in some other international markets.

Variants 

The Indonesia-spec Ford Endeavour is offered in two broad variants: XLT and Titanium.

The Titanium being the top-spec variant gets extra features over the XLT variant. It must be noted that Indonesia is one of the markets where the model is offered in just two variants. 

The Endy is offered in six colour options there: Equinox Bronze, Arctic White, Aluminium Metallic,  Meteor Grey, Absolute Black, and Sedona Orange.

Features Offered

The top variant of the Indonesia-spec Ford Endeavour is equipped with an impressive array of features, including a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system, a wireless phone charger, drive modes, and a powered tailgate. 

In terms of safety, it gets the full suite of ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake and 7 airbags.

Expected India Launch And Price 

It is uncertain if the Endeavour will be launched in India, but if it does, it will probably arrive as a  completely built unit (CBU). We expect the price range (ex-showroom) to be between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch of the Ford Endy will bring back its rivalry with the Toyota Fortuner. Its other competitors include the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
