Jaguar I-Pace delisted from official website.
The I-Pace was the brand’s only electric vehicle sold in the Indian market and was India’s second luxury EV when launched back in 2021.
The Jaguar I-Pace was equipped with a 90kWh battery pack powering a twin motor setup producing 400 PS and 696 Nm.
This leaves Jaguar with just the F-Pace SUV remaining for its India line-up, after the XJ, XF and XE sedans got off the market earlier.
Jaguar India has taken off the I-Pace from its official website, hence making us speculate that it has been discontinued. Even bookings for the all-electric SUV have been halted until further notice. The Jaguar I-Pace was the second luxury EV in the Indian auto domain, and was Jaguar’s only EV offering which was priced at Rs 1.25 crore (ex-showroom) before its discontinuation.
When launched in the year 2021, the Jaguar I-Pace was the country’s second luxury EV which was priced around Rs 1.06 crore (ex-showroom). It rivaled other luxury EVs like the then sold Mercedes Benz EQC SUV and the Audi e-tron which followed later. While other brands kept on adding up more EVs to their portfolio along with bringing constant updates to their line-up, Jaguar failed to do so and could not keep up with the competition. Therefore, this silent removal of the I-Pace from the brand’s official website, leads us to believe that Jaguar has discontinued its only EV offering for the Indian market.
The Jaguar I-Pace marked its entry in 2021 in the Indian market and instantly garnered tremendous attention for its sleek and futuristic design, impressive electric performance, and cutting edge tech. The coupe-like silhouette set it apart from anything else rolling on the roads. It came in via the CBU (completely built unit) route and was available in three trims: S, SE and HSE.
The interiors of the I-Pace were equally attractive like its exterior, and featured tech loaded up to the brim. Its feature list encompassed a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5-inch screen for the dual-zone automatic climate control unit, a digital driver’s display, a heads-up display, 17-speaker 750-Watt Meridian 3D surround sound system, 16-way power adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, connected car tech and a powered tailgate.
On the safety front, it came equipped with 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, all-wheel disk brakes, hill-hold assist, adaptive cruise control and a 360 degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors.
The Jaguar I-Pace packed in a 90kWh battery pack which was mated to a dual motor setup powering all four wheels. It produced 400 PS and 696 Nm, which helped it sprint from 0 - 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds. The I-Pace claimed a WLTP range of 470 km.
With this discontinuation, Jaguar is left with just the F-Pace SUV on sale for the Indian market, after the XJ, XF and XE sedans got off the market. It is yet to be seen as to when Jaguar launches a new model, as sources suggest that there could be an EV coming our way by 2025. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know.
