The Japanese manufacturers seem to be on a huge nostalgia trip this week as Yamaha unveiled the neo-retro sports bike, the XSR900 GP, as a tribute to the manufacturer’s GP bikes from the 80s and 90s. And now Kawasaki has taken the wraps off the 40th Anniversary Edition models for its Ninja lineup, featuring the iconic livery of the Ninja ZX-7R from the 1990s.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7R was an iconic racing bike of its time, hugely successful in various championships including the WorldSBK Championship. And its beautiful green, white and blue livery has become equally iconic over the years. So, Kawasaki has painted the livery on four of its Ninja models: ZX-4RR, ZX-6R, ZX-10R and the ZX-14R.
The paint scheme is an exact replica of the original one and uses the same font for the brand and model names as well. They get a ‘40th Anniversary’ emblem on top of the fuel tank, wheels painted in lime green, and the frame and swingarm in silver.

The 40th Anniversary Edition models of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR, ZX-6R, ZX-10R and the ZX-14R are priced at $10,299, $12,649, $19,149 and $17,249 respectively. Well, as much as we love these beautiful special edition models, the likelihood of them coming to India is nearly zero.
