Kawasaki Eliminator 450 Teased: To Be Unveiled At The 2023 India Bike Week In Goa

Kawasaki has teased a new bike that – going by the hashtags used – will likely be unveiled at the 2023 India Bike Week (IBW) in Goa. The wheel design, front disc placement, and overall silhouette match that of the Kawasaki Eliminator 450.

The 2023 India Bike Week will take place on December 8-9. And if we’re lucky, Kawasaki might just launch the bike at the event. The Eliminator 450 will be the brand’s most affordable cruiser and will sit above the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and below the Kawasaki Z650.

With the reintroduction of the Eliminator name, the Japanese brand is taking a full circle, as the nameplate is making a comeback in India after over two decades. This is because the Eliminator name was initially on a smaller-capacity cruiser, sold in partnership with Bajaj, back in 2001. But when the Kawasaki-Bajaj partnership ended, the Eliminator was rebadged as the Bajaj Avenger, which is currently on sale, though in a modern avatar with a larger engine.

The Kawasaki Eliminator 450 is powered by a new 451cc engine that produces 45.4PS at 9000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6000rpm, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The cruiser gets a telescopic fork at the front and twin shocks at the rear. 

The braking duties on the Eliminator are handled by a 310mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. The bike gets 18-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels, fitted with 130-section front and 150-section rear tubeless tyres. Weighing just 176kg, the Eliminator is a pretty lightweight motorcycle for the 450cc cruiser segment.

We expect the cruiser to be priced at around Rs 5.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). For perspective, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 costs Rs 5,24,000 whereas the Kawasaki Z650 is pegged at Rs 6,59,000 (both ex-showroom India). Its closest rival will be the Keeway V302C, a 300cc V-twin cruiser. Stay tuned for more updates as we head to cover IBW!
