The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is now no longer the most expensive 400cc bike in India as the Japanese manufacturer has now launched the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR in India. Here are all the details:
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR has been priced at Rs Rs 9,10,000 (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 61,000 more expensive than the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R. And that means this Kawasaki is not only quite expensive for a 400cc bike, even the premium it charges over the standard ZX-4R is quite steep, given what this one has to offer. At this price point, it doesn’t have any direct rivals. The bike will be brought in limited numbers as CBU (Completely Built Up) units.
Compared to the Ninja ZX-4R, the ZX-4RR gets a preload-adjustable 37mm Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork-Big Piston) inverted fork and a fully adjustable (compression and rebound damping and preload adjustability) Showa BFRC-lite monoshock. The ZX-4R also gets a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. It is powered by the same 399cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four cylinder which makes 77PS at 14,500rpm and 39Nm at 13,000rpm (80PS with RAM air intake) whereas on the ZX-4R, the motor makes 75PS (77PS with the RAM air intake) and 37.6Nm.
Other than the suspension setup, bi-directional quickshifter and the output figures, the rest of the bike is similar to the Ninja ZX-4R and gets the same sharp and aggressive design language with a twin-pod LED headlights setup.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is very expensive considering it is a 400cc bike. Heck, it costs only Rs 28,000 less than the Kawasaki Z900, which is more powerful and gets more upright ergonomics. But again, it’s a small capacity inline-four bike and promises all the fun of a big litre-class super bike but without being as intimidating as one. For those who can afford it, the ZX-4RR promises screaming in-line four fun and is packed with features, all of which also makes it a great track bike as well.
