Kia has launched the Carens X-Line, with a starting price of Rs 18.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The model sports cosmetic enhancements both in its interior and exterior design, and is Kia's third offering to receive the X-Line treatment. The Carens X-Line is offered in a 6-seater configuration with the turbo-petrol and diesel engines, paired to their respective automatic transmissions.

As you can see from the above comparison, the X-Line trim commands Rs 40,000 premium over the top-spec Luxury Plus trim.
Similar to Kia’s other X-Line models, the Carens X-Line features the Xclusive Matte Graphite colour shade. Additional enhancements include blacked-out features such as gloss black touches on the bumpers and outside mirrors for a sportier look. You'll also notice the X-Line logo on the tailgate to remind you which trim it is.
Inside, the Carens X-Line interior now boasts a dual-tone black/green interior theme. This refreshed look also includes a black roof liner.
Furthermore, the Carens X-Line gets orange stitching on the seats, armrests and steering wheel for that added bit of contrast.

It’s not just cosmetic enhancements that Kia has made to the Carens X-Line. The Korean marque has also introduced new features such as a new 10.25-inch fully digital driver's display from the new Seltos. It also gets an entertainment screen for left-side rear passengers, which supports podcasts, screen mirroring, and various entertainment apps, all controllable via a remote app on the user's phone.
Bits such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, and an air purifier have been retained.
Safety is taken care of with six airbags, ABS, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, and hill assist control.
The Kia Carens X-Line is offered with two engine options: a 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 116PS 1.5-litre diesel. Both engine choices come with automatic transmissions: a 7-speed DCT for the petrol variant and a 6-speed AT for the diesel model. You can’t get it with the 6-speed iMT.
The Kia Carens locks horns with the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Mahindra Marazzo. It is a more affordable alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross and Innova Crysta.
