Alongside revised exteriors, the SUV will also get better features such as driver-assistance tech (ADAS)

  • Facelifted Harrier’s interior has been caught on camera.

  • Test mule shows similar upper dash design and new gear selector and steering controls.

  • Will get redesigned front-end styling and a fresh set of alloy wheels.

  • Launch expected sometime in early 2024.

Tata has a new version of the Harrier in the works, and spy shots of its test mules surface time and again. This time, the SUV’s interior has been spied, showing some of the elements that we’ll see in the production-spec version. The facelifted Harrier is expected to go on sale sometime in early 2024.

Interior details revealed

The test mule’s partially camouflaged dashboard has a familiar layout and design as the existing Harrier. The touchscreen is concealed, but we reckon it should be the same 10.25-inch unit as the existing Harrier Red Dark Edition. The centre console trim and drive mode controls also seem slightly revised. The gear selector in this automatic variant is sleeker and smaller than the existing SUV’s gear lever.

Apart from these changes, the facelifted Harrier test mule also seems to have new steering-mounted switches. It should get features such as ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital driver’s display, multiple airbags and driver-assistance and active safety features (ADAS).

Tata has already updated the Harrier’s existing 170PS, 2-litre diesel engine to RDE norms, so the facelifted SUV should get an oil burner option, too. It’s also likely to get a petrol engine option, the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit seen at Auto Expo 2023.

The facelifted Tata Harrier has ready rivals in the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 and Jeep Compass. The Harrier will likely carry a sizeable premium over its existing version that currently retails from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 24.07 lakh (ex-showroom).
