Compass was first launched in India in 2017 and got a significant facelift in 2021.
Changes likely to be limited to minor cosmetic tweaks and new trim bits.
Anniversary edition to have similar features and powertrains as standard Compass.
Likely to be priced at a small premium over the variant it’ll be based on.
It’s already been five years since Jeep introduced the Compass SUV in India, and the carmaker is commemorating it with a new fifth anniversary edition. The anniversary-edition Compass is expected to be launched with minor tweaks and trim changes soon.
Expect the limited-run SUV to be priced at a premium over the standard Compass which retails between Rs 18.39 lakh to Rs 31.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Jeep hasn’t revealed the details about the special edition Compass, but we reckon it’ll feature relatively minor changes over the standard Compass, such as bespoke seat upholstery and distinct exterior and interior trim bits.
The features and equipment list should be largely similar to the regular Compass that’s already loaded with premium equipment such as a panoramic sunroof, digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats and six airbags.
The facelifted Compass offers a 163PS 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine and a 172PS 2-litre diesel unit, both paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol engine is offered with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel unit gets a 9-speed auto.
Jeep SUVs are synonymous with off-roading capability, and the Compass is available with a four-wheel drive (4WD) option paired with the diesel automatic powertrain.
In addition, Jeep offers the Compass Trailhawk that takes off-roading even more seriously. The Trailhawk sits at the top of the Compass range and offers features such as Jeep’s SelecTerrain terrain management system and a low-range transfer case for better off-roading prowess.

When it was first launched in 2017, the locally built Jeep Compass was intended to bring the Jeep name to more car buyers in the country. Rumours of a localised sub-4m SUV aside, the Compass continues to be the entry level for Jeep SUVs.
It slots below the 7-seater 2022 Meridian and Wrangler in Jeep’s lineup. The Compass rivals the Citroen C5 Aircross, Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson.
