Supercar fans, rejoice! Lotus will now have an official presence in India as the British sports car maker is set to make its official debut here on November 9. It globally offers two cars – the Emira and Eletre – but which one is about to make its presence here is yet to be revealed. Reportedly, the carmaker will sell its cars via Exclusive Motors based out of New Delhi.
For now, here is a brief about the two cars Lotus sells overseas.
The Lotus Emira is a two-door sports car and is the British marque’s final internal combustion-only offering. Taking inspiration from the Evija hypercar, the Emira features a sharp design with plenty of curves and creases in a compact body.
It’s also mighty practical, as it has bottle holders, usable door pockets and more importantly, a 359-litre boot! The dashboard comes with dual 12.3-inch screens. One of them is the touchscreen infotainment while the other is a digital driver’s instrument cluster.
In terms of powertrain options, Lotus is offering the choice of two engine options - the first is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 from Toyota while the other is a 4-cylinder turbo petrol from Mercedes-AMG. You can check out more details about the Emira in our unveiling story.

Based on Lotus’ Electric Premium Architecture, the Eletre is the British brand’s first electric vehicle. Once again, the Eletre looks the part with its sharp lines and has an exquisitely detailed interior that looks straight out of a cyberpunk movie.
The SUV comes with a dual-motor configuration with over 600PS. Lotus claims a 0-100 kmph time of sub 3 seconds and a top speed of 260 kmph. The car comes with a 100 kWh battery pack which is rated to offer 600 km of range as per the WLTP cycle. More details about the Eletre can be found here.
In the UK market, the Emira is available from around Rs 89.93 lakh and the Eletre from Rs 92.20 lakh. Lotus plans to import its cars to India via the completely built-up (CBU) route. So expect them to be priced way above their UK numbers once they reach here.
