If power is what floats your boat, then the XUV300 TurboSport should be your go-to with its 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 130PS and 230Nm–20PS and 30Nm more than the standard unit. You can also extract an extra 20Nm from the unit using an ‘overboost’ function, which provides an extra bit of oomph for an overtake.

Power is delivered to the front wheels using a six-speed manual only, unlike the standard model, which also gets the option of a six-speed automatic gearbox. It is available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine as well.
Design changes aren’t as radical as the powertrain update, but you do get subtle tweaks and revisions. Red inserts on the grille, gloss black finish for the grille, ORVMS, roof rails, Mahindra’s ‘Twin Peaks’ logo, and six paint shades including a new Blazing Bronze hue (single- and dual-tone) make up the exterior changes.
Inside too, the changes are subtle with an all-black cabin that gets leather coverings for the steering, gear lever, and seats contrasted by red stitching. The pedals now get an aluminum finish that adds to the sport element of the sub-4m SUV.
The XUV300 TurboSport series takes the fight to the Hyundai Venue N Line and Kia Sonet X Line, while the standard XUV300 continues to rival the likes of the Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger and Maruti Brezza.
