Maruti Brezza Pending Orders Pile Up But Waiting Period Remains Under 6 Months

• Maruti Brezza is still one of the best-selling SUVs in India.

• The Brezza retails for Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.96 lakh (ex-showroom). 

The Maruti Brezza continues to sell like hot cakes, with orders piling up month after month as Maruti strives to meet the demand. The new generation model was launched on June 30, and according to the carmaker, as of October 2022-end, the Brezza has a backlog of around 73,000 orders. 

The average waiting time for the Brezza SUV ranges from three to four months, depending on the location of the dealership. Buyers in Delhi will have to contend with a longer waiting time of six months. Nevertheless, these numbers are still lower than the Brezza’s larger stablemate, the Grand Vitara, whose waiting period runs up to nine months in select cities. 

Still Maruti’s most popular SUV, the Brezza contributes significantly to the carmaker’s overall sales in India. It had a 7 per cent share in the total sales in the first quarter of 2022 which grew to a whopping 9.3 per cent during the second quarter, with 40,000 Brezzas sold between April and June. This means that nearly one out of every ten Marutis sold during that time was a Brezza! 

The Brezza is a subcompact SUV offered with a 1.5-litre petrol mild-hybrid drivetrain paired with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. It gets features such as six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a sunroof and a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen.

It retails from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.96 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and rivals the Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and other subcompact SUVs.
