Maruti Suzuki introduced the Velocity Edition for the Fronx earlier in the year as an accessory package, which is now available across its variant line-up. The Fronx Velocity Edition adds exterior and interior add-on elements to enhance the overall appeal of the car and add a bit of sportiness to its looks. The Velocity edition is now available with both 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and 1-litre turbo-petrol engine options across the line up. The base “Sigma” model Fronx Velocity Edition has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for a limited period of time.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Overview

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is the automaker's crossover based on the Baleno hatchback. Its on-board features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, and even a heads-up display. On the safety front, it gets 6-airbags, ABS with EBD as standard across the range. Furthermore, a 360-degree parking camera, three-point seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat mounts and parking sensors further add to the safety quotient.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is offered in multiple powertrain options. It gets a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 89 PS and 113 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. This engine can also be had with a CNG option producing 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm, again mated to a 5-speed manual.

For a more spirited driving experience, the Fronx also gets a 1-litre BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine producing 100 PS and 148 Nm, which can be had with the option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. 

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is priced from Rs 7.51 lakh to Rs 12.87 lakh (ex-showroom). This crossover is an alternative to the likes of the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
