MG Motors is celebrating its centenary year by launching a special ‘100-Year Limited Edition’ series. This edition features an ‘Evergreen’ color, inspired by the iconic British Racing Green. It is available for the Comet EV, Astor, Hector, and ZS EV models, which have now reached dealerships. For the Astor, the 100 Year Limited Edition is based on its mid-spec Sharp Pro variant and commands a Rs 20,000 premium over the standard variant. Here’s a detailed look at the MG Astor 100 Year Edition:
The MG Astor 100 Year Limited Edition sports the Evergreen colour in a dual-tone paint scheme with the blacked-out roof and elements.
The grille and bumper elements housing the fog lamps are finished in black. The headlights, too get a smoked blacked-out effect.
From the side, it is noticeable that the roof rails are now finished in black instead of silver, as on the standard variants. The window sill garnish remains chrome, though.
It gets all-black 17-inch 10-spoke wheels with contrasting red callipers to add to its sporty appearance.
No major changes are done to the rear section of the Astor, with just the dual-tone option stretching all the way to the roof spoiler. A bit of bling can be seen in the chrome badging as well as elements in the bumper.
The interiors get an all-black treatment with silver elements and red stitching on the dashboard, further accentuating the sportiness inside. The seats also adorn “100 Year Edition” embroidery on the headrests.
To further amplify the special edition’s appeal, the 10.1-inch infotainment screen now comes in the celebratory green coloured theme which looks sharp and crisp than before.
Features on board include an AI Bot mounted on the dashboard, ventilated seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push button start/stop, a wireless charger and even a panoramic sunroof. On the safety front it gets six airbags as standard, ESP, ISOFIX child seat mounts, traction control system, hill hold assist, hill descent control, and TPMS. Unfortunately, ADAS level 2 features are limited to the top-spec trims.
The Astor 100 Year Limited Edition gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit (110 PS/144 Nm) mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. There is also a 1.3- litre turbo petrol engine (140 PS/220 Nm) paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which is reserved for the higher trims.
The Astor 100 Year Limited Edition is based on the Sharp Pro variant and commands the following price over the standard variants:
