MG Astor Review: Should the Hyundai Creta be worried?

It's been a few weeks since MG Motor launched its new entry-level SUV, the Astor in the country, and now the carmaker has rolled out a bunch of add-ons on the SUV. Although the Astor is already a well loaded offering, customers can now choose additional items from a list of 70 accessories.

MG also recommends a few accessories such as mud flaps, car cover, 3D floor mat, and touchscreen unit screen guard as Essentials (*) on the Astor.
The MG Astor comes with a few segment-first features such as autonomous driver aid kit, which includes forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and high-beam assist, and AI-driven features with voice command-based functions.

The Astor is offered in two powertrains: a 140PS/220Nm 1.3-litre turbo-petrol and a 110PS/144Nm 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed CVT for the NA motor and a 6-speed automatic for the turbo-petrol unit. The SUV is available in a choice of five broad variants - Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy.
MG has priced the Astor from Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). Its alternatives are the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, and VW Taigun.
