It’s always an exciting time when we are on the verge of the launch of a new game. And that excitement and anticipation grows multifold especially when it is a Formula 1 game in question. The teaser for the upcoming F1 23 game has just dropped and you can take a look at it for yourself:
Thrilling, right? While the first clip is literally just that, a teaser giving us the first look at the game, predominantly for creating hype before its launch. There was a corresponding gameplay features video which details the new functionality of the game. So we’ve decoded the video for you and here’s everything you can expect from the game:
Revised physics
The F1 gaming franchise always takes pride in the fact that it is the closest thing you can come to driving an actual Formula 1 car without actually getting behind the wheel of one. And those bragging rights are down to the impeccable physics and dynamics of the game that mimic the real-world characteristics of not only the race cars, but also the whole race weekend.
Changes to the vehicle’s physics, handling, and low speed traction have improved the overall driveability of the vehicle by giving you a more predictable experience, especially under acceleration, braking and around corners.
This has been achieved by incorporating feedback garnered from real F1 teams to make the experience as authentic as possible. The detailing is so extreme that even the underbody interaction with curbs and bumps have been considered and are now communicated to the controller via haptic feedback.
Improved controller technology
the automobile community
The F1 game is highly sensitive in terms of controls in the sense that even the smallest of inputs via the controller can cause unwanted maneuvers, which can in turn have a disastrous outcome in your race. Hence, the new game will offer an option to fine-tune the feedback and calibration to suit your method of input delivery.

A precision drive technology has been issued this time around. It is essentially a transformative controller input technology, which will offer you more control over your inputs; and more importantly how those inputs are transmitted and felt in the game. You will be able to calibrate the force feedback, vibrations and change the linearity of the throttle and steering input for a highly personalised drive experience.
New tracks and features
The real-world championship has seen a host of changes from the addition of new tracks to trial of new sprint layouts from the previous year. Those have been incorporated within the game as well. It’ll get the new highly awaited Las Vegas track that has been built from ground up in the game via the help of thousands of real-life photos of Las Vegas. In addition to this, you will also be given access to previous circuits that Formula 1 used to race on, and not just the ones that are part of the current season.
The F1 23 game will also get a new 35% race distance option (around 25 laps) because people playing the video game might not want to commit to a full-length race which can take hours to complete. The new race format will offer a sweet middle point where users can get a full grand prix-like experience because various factors like tyre degradation will still be relevant in this race structure, without having to drive around for 50 laps (more or less depending on the track).
In addition to the safety car, the codemasters have also added the red flag functionality within the game which allows for an even-more realistic race simulation, while making things a lot more interesting on the race strategy front.

F1 23 will hit different platforms including Playstation, Xbox and PC on June 16. But if you pre order it right now, you will get a 3-day early access along with some exclusive content. We are surely going to get our hands on one, because the changes look like a big step up over the current F1 22 game, at least according to the information we currently have. Can’t wait to see how these new changes pan out within the game.
