New-gen Renault Duster leaked ahead of its global debut tomorrow.
Design is inspired heavily from the Bigster concept.
Likely to get new features like ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and a possible ADAS suite.
Reports suggest it will be offered with three powertrain choices globally, no diesel.
An India-launch is expected sometime in 2025.
The Renault Duster is going to make a comeback in India after its global debut tomorrow. But ahead of its official reveal, the SUV has been leaked online, revealing details about its exterior design. Interior is yet to be seen but here’s everything we know about the new-gen Duster so far:
Remember the Dacia Bigster Concept? Seems like the new Duster will be heavily (if not almost entirely) inspired from the concept SUV as the leaked images hint at a very similar front end. Differences can be discerned within the LED headlights with the similar Y-shaped DRLs but with slightly different lighting elements around it. There are two creases for the hood, adding muscle and ruggedness to the Duster’s design.
The rugged side profile is apparent as well with the bulky wheel arches and roof rails. It also gets a design insert just below the front wheel arches, more details on which when the car actually gets unveiled.
The rear too has similarities with the Bigster Concept with its horizontally placed Y-shaped LED taillights, which extend towards the rear fender along with some heavy cladding for the rear bumper. You also get a rather stylish roof spoiler.

There is no information about the cabin of the Duster, but one leaked image does give a dekko at its digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, you can expect the third-generation Renault Duster to take a significant leap features-wise, because India only ever got the first-generation Duster. And given that there is a gap of a whole generation between the two, the new SUV should be more premium and could pack multiple displays, ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and maybe even a suite of ADAS.
Overall, the Duster’s styling, both exterior and interior, will be a big departure, especially in India where the Duster was axed in 2022.
As per multiple reports, the Duster is expected to be offered in three engine options, neither of them being a diesel engine. The options include a 110PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 1.2-litre hybrid engine tuned to generate power figures between 120PS and 140PS, and a 170PS 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. These will be available globally and the powertrain for the India-spec model is yet to be confirmed.

The new Renault SUV will be based on a new CMF-B modular platform – capable of supporting both ICE and electric powertrains – jointly developed by Nissan and Renault. As a result a Nissan counterpart could also surface.
The new-gen Renault Duster is expected to arrive in India sometime in 2025, where it will rekindle its old rivalry with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
