Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch the 2023 Xtreme 160R tomorrow. The Indian two-wheeler giant has already put up a bunch of teasers of the motorcycle on its social media, revealing quite a few details.
The highlight of this update is the new 4-valve head for the engine. The current model uses a 163cc unit with a 2-valve configuration, putting out 15.2PS and 14Nm. We expect the performance to go up slightly with the new model along with improved refinement levels.
Another update is the addition of a USD fork. The teaser has already shown that the bike will get gold-finished units. This upgrade from the telescopic fork on the current model should result in a sportier and more engaging riding experience.
Going by the teasers, the monoshock as well as the braking equipment seems to be carried over from the current model. Though we did hope the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R would get dual-channel ABS, the latest teaser shows the rear wheel doesn’t get an ABS sensor.
Now that the teasers have shown almost the entire motorcycle, there aren’t any radical design changes, and it would just come with new paint schemes and livery.
All these changes would warrant a price hike of Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000. For reference, the Hero Xtreme 160R currently retails at Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. The updated Xtreme 160R will go up against the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Pulsar N160 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
