Teasing its upcoming hatchback, Maruti Suzuki has opened pre-launch bookings for the Alto K10. The all-new compact hatchback will slot above the existing Alto (to soon be re-named Alto 800) and can be booked for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
The Alto K10 is based on Maruti Suzuki’s Heartect platform and is longer and taller than the existing Alto. The new teaser reveals a neat-looking front fascia with a hexagonal mesh design on the grille. New grille aside, we already know what the Alto K10 will look like from a previous leak.
The new Alto K10 will be offered in Standard, LXI, VXI and VXI+ trim levels.
As its name suggests, the Alto K10 is powered by Maruti’s latest 67PS 1-litre K10C petrol engine from the Celerio and S-Presso featuring an idle start-stop function. It’ll be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and an AMT automatic option will be offered on the VXI and VXI+ variants.
The Alto K10 will get a longer features list than the Alto 800 with equipment such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digitised instrument cluster, all four power windows and manual AC. Safety features should include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
