Tata Altroz Racer teased for the second time
Teaser reveals its dual-tone black hood and roof with white racing stripes
Interior still under wraps, but expect new features like a larger touchscreen and digital driver’s display
Will be equipped with a 120 PS turbo-petrol engine sourced from the Nexon
Prices reveal in June 2024, will rival the Hyundai i20 N Line
The launch of the Tata Altroz Racer is finally upon us after the Indian carmaker made us wait for nearly a year and a half after debuting it as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The second and latest teaser confirms that more design details ahead of the launch in June, let’s decipher what the teaser reveals:
We have already spied the Altroz Racer completely undisguised on a previous occasion and have even had a look inside the hot hatch’s cabin. So we already know what to expect from it, but the teaser just converts those speculations into confirmations. The latest one shows off the black hood and roof, which sport the dual white racing stripes that run in the middle, giving it a rather sporty look.
A single-pane sunroof can also be spotted in the short teaser, followed by the ‘Racer’ badging on the fender, which is finished in the bright new orange colour.

No official peeks inside the Tata Altroz Racer yet, but test mules suggest a familiar dashboard layout but with orange accents that will match the exterior colour. It is also likely to get new features like a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a surround-view camera (360-degree), and a digital driver’s display.
While the sporty styling cues and feature additions are all well and good, the Altroz Racer’s most exciting upgrade lies under its hood. It’ll get a Nexon-sourced 120 PS/ 170 Nm 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which is a small jump in output compared to its i-Turbo's 110 PS and 140 Nm. A 6-speed MT will be on offer, while an automatic transmission could also be made available.
