The Bajaj Chetak’s sales have grown 3.5 times in the recently finished financial year (April 2023 - March 2024) over the one before. And now, the manufacturer is all set to expand the number of Chetak dealerships from 200 to 600 across the country. And to add to that, Bajaj is now planning to expand the Chetak electric scooter’s portfolio further by introducing more variants in the near future.
In a recent interview, Rajiv Bajaj (CEO, Bajaj Auto) revealed, “...there will always be at least one new Chetak every year. For sure next year, we have something distinctly different, it's not just another refresh on the existing Chetak, but a new platform itself...”
Moreover, a new more affordable Chetak is also in the works, which was recently spied during testing. It will be launched this month, which Rajiv Bajaj also confirmed. He said, “...we are also about to launch another Chetak this month. So, for Chetak, the portfolio will be three scooters…”
Bajaj will also explore the possibility of a hydrogen-powered vehicle, with the Chetak. Chetak will also explore the possibility of a hydrogen engine, and here is what we think about it.
