(Update: KTM has launched the 2024 390 Duke in India at a fantastic price! More about it in our launch story.)
Bikes in bright colours are cool, only if done right. Or else, they end up looking like a five year old had a finger painting accident while on a sugar rush, a total assault on the senses. KTM is known for its over-the-top use of orange in all its products, and honestly, until recently, you either liked it or hated it. But this next-generation 390 Duke which has been spied recently in a brand new orange and black scheme… ooo la la!
This motorcycle has been in the works and in the news for a while now. We pretty much have a general sense of what to expect from this generation update. If you’ve missed the recent updates on this motorcycle, check this article out. In this article, we will take two minutes to admire how stunning this motorcycle looks, especially in this new paint scheme.
The balance of black and orange across the bike is now well spread out. Like a colleague rightfully pointed out, it’s no longer splashes of orange on a black canvas or vice versa, but rather a balanced blend.
While the front end and tail of this 390 Duke are soaked in jet black, the tank, tank shrouds, seat and seat pan are dipped in a warm orange tone. Even the gradient effect on the ‘Duke 390’ livery looks cool. The same balance of colours can be noticed on the mainframe and subframe. This colour balance really compliments the orange wheels (finally!).
This new 390 Duke is packing a lot of promise and us enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting to see what awaits us. While we are certain that the Duke of speed is sure to excite us, these colour variants will certainly help it stand out from the older lot of Dukes, giving it a unique identity.
