Prices for the both the unveilings are expected to be out soon
Nissan Cars India has revealed the AMT variants and Kuro Edition for the 2023 Magnite. The former brings more accessibility for those looking for Magnite with an automatic transmission. And the Kuro Edition is a special edition for the 2023 Magnite, to capitalise on the festive season sales, which features bespoke styling touches.
Let’s take a closer look at both the unveilings
One of the biggest updates in the Magnite is the introduction of the 5-speed AMT with the 72PS 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It’s for those who want a more affordable automatic powertrain as the Magnite only got the CVT with its 100PS 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine. You can expect the AMT to be offered in multiple variants for better accessibility.
In addition to revealing the AMT ‘box, Nissan has also unveiled the Magnite Kuro Edition, based on the one-below-top XV trim, to capitalise on festive season sales.

Kuro basically means ‘black’ in Japanese, and as you can see, the car is primarily finished in black. All the shiny and contrasting bits found in the grille, bumper and even the wheels are finished in black. And to add a dash of contrast, it features red front brake callipers. Lastly, you get Kuro badging on the front fender as well.
Inside, the black theme continues with piano black accents on the steering wheel, door handles, gear knob and AC vents. Also, the roof liner is finished in black and leatherette seat covers are upholstered in… you guessed it… black.
Bookings for the Magnite Kuro edition are already open and you can expect a premium of about Rs 15,000 over the trim it’s based on. As for the AMT, you can expect a price premium of around Rs 55,000 over its respective manual transmission variants, which start from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Nissan Magnite continues to rival Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Fronx, Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and the Renault Kiger.
