Quick News Highlights:

- Ola Electric has opened its 600th service centre in India

- It is located in Vadodara, Gujarat and is the brand’s 44th service centre in the state

- The new service centre is also the largest in the state

Ola Electric has announced that it has opened its 600th service centre in India, located in Vadodara, Gujarat. This is the EV maker’s largest service centre in the state and it now has 44 such centres in Gujarat.

Ola New Service Centre

On the day of inaugurating the centre, Ola Electric organised an all-day free scooter check-up for its customers. In February 2024, when it launched the Ola S1 X (4kWh), the manufacturer said that it will expand its service network from 400 to 600 by the end of April 2024 and now it has reached that milestone. The EV maker also announced at that time that a battery warranty package of 8 years or 80,000km for its entire lineup is now available as standard.

During the month of June 2024, Ola Electric recorded 36,716 registrations and gained a market share of 46 percent in the process. Also, the manufacturer has recorded over 2 lakh registrations in 2024, making it the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer to achieve such a milestone within the first half of a calendar year.

Ola Lineup

During a recent press briefing, the EV maker’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said Ola Electric’s scooters will be fitted with in-house built lithium-ion battery cells by early next year. This will help the manufacturer reduce dependency on imported batteries and reduce the scooter’s costs at the same time. Also at the same press briefing, the CEO said that Ola Electric will launch a few variants of its bikes by early 2025. We think that the EV maker’s first bike will be an affordable offering and its performance could be similar to that of a 125cc petrol-powered bike. It could be the relatively simpler-looking Roadster we saw in the design patents of three Ola bikes, with a hub-mounted motor, telescopic fork, twin shock absorbers and a braking setup consisting of a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.
