Ola Electric recently launched the Roadster X+ in India. The bike is available in two battery pack variants: 4.5kWh priced at Rs 1,04,999 and 9.1kWh battery pack for Rs 1,54,999 (both prices ex-showroom, introductory). Let’s have a look whether the Roadster X+ is the one for you.
Range
The Ola Roadster X+ comes in two battery pack variants. A 4.5kWh battery pack which returns a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 252km on a full charge and a 9.5kWh variant which has a claimed IDC range of 501km. If you are someone who has constant range anxiety and are worried whether you would run out of charge while commuting, the Roadster X+ top-end variant has an excellent claimed range. Even the 4.5kWh variant has a massive 252km claimed range which should be enough for most people.
Features
The Ola Roadster X+ comes with an LCD instrument cluster and gets 3 riding modes: Eco, Normal and Sports. The LCD console is powered by MoveOS 5 which provides features like turn-by-turn navigation via Ola Maps Navigation, cruise control, reverse mode, DIY Mode, regen, traction control, brake-by-wire, TPMS alerts, and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. The bike also has an all-LED lighting setup.
Design
The Roadster X has a very modern and sharp design language. The motorcycle is sure to stand out. The sharp angular headlight gets an LED DRL which gives the bike a futuristic look and the aggressive body panels makes it look sporty. It gets a long single-piece seat and clean body panels which complete the overall look. The electric bike comes in five colour options: Industrial Silver, Anthracite, Stellar Blue, Ceramic White and Pine Green.

Price
The 4.5kWh variant priced at Rs 1,04,999 (ex-showroom) while having a claimed range of 252km is in a sweet spot in the electric two-wheelers market. Ola Electric offers a long claimed range and a lot of features than their rivals do. Even the larger 9.1kWh variant offers more range than electric two-wheelers a couple price segments higher.
ZigSays
The Ola Roadster X+ is quite an exciting proposition, at least on paper. If you are someone who wants a huge range (claimed) on their electric motorcycle, a decent set of features, and a contemporary design language. All at an affordable price, the Roadster X+ could be something you consider. The only place where Ola still needs to prove themselves is in the reliability of their EVs and after sales service. As to how the motorcycle is to ride, we will get to know that once we swing our leg over it, sometime soon.
