Buying a second-hand Royal Enfield bikes could soon get a lot easier

Royal Enfield recently secured the trademark for the name 'Reown' and we think the company is preparing to venture into the pre-owned motorcycle segment! Given the high resale value that used Royal Enfield bikes have, this move was a long time coming. The wordplay is pretty clever, as the letters R and E in “Reown” refer to Royal Enfield, and the font has been chosen to look like readings on an analogue odometer.

Through the Reown brand, prospective second-hand bike buyers will not only have a secure option, but more importantly, Royal Enfield’s validation as well, something that’s always a bit of a concern in the second-hand market given the amount of unethical sellers. An additional advantage for the company is that this label will allow people to get into the Royal Enfield family at a more accessible price point. Royal Enfield had earlier even launched a ‘Vintage Store’ in Chennai. That said, it was to cater towards the vintage side of things while the upcoming initiative was to sell modern second-hand Royal Enfields to buyers.

Now Royal Enfield is not the only player in this sector, for Triumph and Ducati have their pre-owned motorcycles’ business as well. But both brands predominantly cater to the premium segment. So if we talk about the more approachable end of the market, Royal Enfield could soon become the only brand in this segment.
