A closer look at the Super Meteor 650 before its India debut later this month

Royal Enfield has unveiled the Super Meteor 650 at the EICMA 2022 before its India debut at the Rider Mania later this month. Here’s a closer look at the new cruiser:

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 looks like a proper retro cruiser. It has the low stance with a ground clearance of just 135mm and bits like the sculpted seat, chunky fenders and the teardrop-shaped tank only accentuates the cruiser persona. Royal Enfield will be offering the cruiser in seven colours.

Royal Enfield has equipped its new cruiser with all-LED illumination, a first from the Indian bikemaker.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 comes with a semi-digital instrument console shared with the Meteor 350. Its digital inset comprises a tripmeter, odometer, distance to empty, and clock, most of which do not come on the other 650cc siblings.

The Super Meteor 650 gets a 15.7-litre fuel tank, which is the biggest amongst its 650cc siblings.

Royal Enfield has used the same rotary-style switchgear seen on the J-Platform bikes, however, is a cast aluminium unit which gives it a premium feel.

Royal Enfield has used the same 648cc air-/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine from the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It produces 47PS and 52.3Nm which are identical to its siblings. Even the six-speed gearbox remains unchanged.

The Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser flaunts a 43mm USD fork and the dual shock suspension setup with 120mm and 101mm travel respectively, both of which are unique to this model.

Dropping the anchor on this cruiser are 320mm and 300mm discs at the front and rear, backed by dual-channel ABS. The bike runs on a 19/16-inch alloy wheel setup shod with Ceat tubeless tyres, a first for the 650cc platform.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 will make its debut in India later this month and will be the most expensive bike from the company, and could be priced at Rs 3.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
