The Kylaq will be Skoda’s subcompact SUV in India positioned in a crowded segment with SUVs such as Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet and more. The subcompact SUV will be revealed tomorrow (November 6, 2026), ahead of its expected India launch in early 2025. From the spy shots and official teasers, we have some of its details including certain design elements, features, and the powertrain.
So ahead of its unveil tomorrow, here are the top 5 things that you need to know:
Skoda has announced that the Kylaq will be based on a new ‘Modern Solid’ design language which will help it set it apart from the larger Kushaq. The front end will sport a new look featuring a split headlight setup consisting of sleek-looking DRLs placed above the main headlamps. The butterfly grille which is familiar on Skoda cars, will be seen on the Kylaq as well.
The Kylaq will get a Kushaq-like silhouette and newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear will get freshly designed LED tail lights, a shark fin antenna and a roof-mounted spoiler. For in-depth details about its design and dimensions, head over to our story on the same.
The dashboard design and layout of the Kylaq is expected to be similar to that of the Kushaq compact SUV. Spy shots had revealed that the cabin will sport a two-spoke steering wheel and a Kushaq-like gear lever. The interior of the base-spec Kylaq was seen with a dark theme, however, higher-spec variants could be offered with a different colour scheme. We expect Skoda to offer the subcompact SUV with leather seats for the top-spec variants.
It has been confirmed that the Kylaq will come with 6 airbags as standard, powered driver seats and ventilated front seats. Expected features on board include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, a sunroof, keyless entry and automatic climate control with rear AC vents.
In terms of safety, it will likely get a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist and a reverse parking camera with sensors.
The Kylaq will be propelled by a sole 1-litre turbo-petrol engine which makes up to 115 PS and 178 Nm. The engine will be available to be combined with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque-converter transmission.
The Skoda Kylaq could be priced from around Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival subcompact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
