Suzuki is recalling three of its 250cc models – the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250, and the V-Strom SX. A problem with the engine camshaft has led to this recall.
All three models share the same 249cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, and there have been reports of unusual wear on them. This issue is likely due to parts not being heat treated properly during manufacturing, potentially affecting specific batches of production. Engines facing this problem may produce strange noises and experience sudden stalling while in motion.
The company and its dealerships are now identifying and bringing back the bikes from the batches that have this specific problem. They're replacing the faulty parts for free. We asked Suzuki for their thoughts on this, but they have chosen not to comment at this moment.
