Suzuki surprised everyone by launching an ADV variant of its Gixxer 250 streetfighter and Gixxer SF250 supersport. The V-Strom 250 SX retails at Rs 2,11,600 (ex-showroom Delhi), a premium of Rs 30,000 over its naked sibling and Rs 24,000 over its faired sibling. That said, if you aren’t a fan of the new Suzuki bike, worry not, we have a couple of similarly priced alternatives that you could go for:
1) Royal Enfield Scram 411: Rs. 2.03-2.08 lakh
The recently launched Royal Enfield Scram 411 undercuts the V-Strom 250 by Rs 3,000-8,000, depending on the colour you choose. At 795mm, its seat height is a considerable 40mm lower than the V-Strom SX’ standard seat height. Along with it, the Scram also gets a massive 70mm of extra suspension travel, which helps in its off-roading prowess immensely. So if your day includes both on- and off-road travel, you could save some money and go for the Royal Enfield Scram 411.
2) Yezdi Adventure: Rs. 2.09-2.18 lakh
The Yezdi Adventure not only gets 5.7PS of extra power, but it also gets a whole 7.7Nm of extra torque. Adding to that, it gets a pucca off-road spec 21-inch wheel up front against the V-Strom’s 19-incher. Moreover, prices for the Yezdi Adventure start at Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which is marginally lower than the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX.
3) Yezdi Scrambler: Rs. 2.04-2.10 lakh
The Yezdi Scrambler too, has 2.6PS and 6Nm over the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX. Along with that, it also gets spoke wheels as compared to the Suzuki’s alloy wheels, giving it a lot more flexibility off the road. The single-tone base variant of the Scrambler starts at Rs. 2.04 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), undercutting the V-Strom SX. If it sounds like something you want, you can head over to the nearest Yezdi Motorcycles dealership.
4) Royal Enfield Classic 350: Rs. 1.87-2.18 lakh
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 starts at Rs 1.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for its base variant, which makes it a whole lot cheaper than the V-Strom 250 SX. It may be down on power, but it makes a whole 4.8Nm of extra torque, which makes for a delightful riding experience. The Classic 350’s torque driven motor makes it a charm to lazily ride around in the city. If that is the kind of experience you are looking for, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 could be a good proposition for you.
5) Honda H’ness CB350: Rs. 1.96-2.03 lakh
Prices for the Honda H’ness CB350 start from Rs 1.96 lakh for its base variant, going up to Rs. 2.03 lakh for its Anniversary Edition. This makes it a whole lot cheaper than the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX. It also gets more modern touches like LED indicators and a multifunction switchgear on the left handlebar, all of it while maintaining a retro feel. It also packs 30Nm, or 7.8Nm more than the Suzuki, which should also provide a much richer riding experience. The Honda H’ness CB350 could be a good bike for the ones looking for a retro-styled motorcycle with modern touches.
