Tata is all set to launch the Altroz Racer in the Indian market, as a sportier alternative to its Altroz premium hatchback. According to our sources, few dealers across the country have already started accepting bookings for the upcoming Altroz Racer. These unofficial bookings hint upon its arrival pretty soon. Officially, Tata has only given us teasers that hint at the exterior design details of its newest offering.

What’s Changed?
The Altroz Racer will adorn cosmetic updates to the exterior and interior along with a few tech additions too. It will sport a new orange coloured dual tone paint scheme with sporty stripes on the hood and roof, blacked out elements, black painted rims and Racer badging.
Similarly, the interiors are expected to get an all black theme to enhance the sportiness along with a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as found in other Tata models like the Nexon. Furthermore, it will likely get orange accents in the interior with orange ambient lighting. A sunroof, a digital driver’s display and a heads-up display are also going to be a part of the additions. Safety features will encompass 6-airbags, ABS with ESP as standard across the range.

More Performance
The Altroz Racer will not just see cosmetic upgrades, but will also get a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine borrowed from its elder sibling Nexon. This unit in the Altroz Racer is expected to produce 120 PS and 170 Nm as compared to the 110 PS and 140 Nm of the standard Altroz iTurbo variants. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic transmission could also be offered.
Price And Rivals

We expect the Tata Altroz Racer to be priced at around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), while commanding a hike over the standard model. It will directly compete with the Hyundai i20 N-Line when launched.
