The Tata Altroz Racer is inching closer to its June 7 launch date. The marque has already opened the order books for the ‘hot’ hatch and we now bring you its variant and colour details, which are different from the standard Altroz. Let’s dive right into it and start with the variants:
Thankfully, Tata is going to offer the Altroz Racer in just three trims: R1, R2, and R3. No complicated variant lineup here. Those three variants get the same powertrain, but differ in terms of the features on offer. Here’s what they offer:
R1
16-inch alloys
6 airbags
Leatherette seats
10.25-inch infotainment system
Push button start/stop
LED DRLs
Rear wiper
8 Speakers (4 Speakers + 4 Tweeters)
Auto AC
Projector headlights
Front fog lamps
Rear defogger
All 4 Power Windows
Electrically Adjustable and Autofold ORVMs
Cruise control
Height adjustable driver seat
Rear AC vents
Auto headlights
Rain-sensing wipers
Leather-wrapped central armrest
4-inch semi-digital driver’s display
Ambient lighting
Leather-wrapped steering and gear knob
Sporty exhaust
R2
The R2 trim packs the following features over the base-spec R1:
Electric sunroof
Wireless phone charger
7-inch semi-digital driver’s display

R3
The R3 trim packs the following features over the mid-spec R2:

That is the variant lineup and the corresponding features of the Tata Altroz Racer. You get a rather loaded vehicle right from the base-spec R1 trim, and the other two trims further build on that with additional creature comforts. Let’s take a look at its colour palette now:
The Tata Altroz’ colour palette is made up of three dual-tone hues: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey. While the Atomic Orange is an entirely new shade for the Altroz nameplate, the dualan-tone treatment is specific to the Altroz Racer. The standard Altroz gets montone shades only. We reckon these three shades will be available to spec throughout its variant lineup.
Putting the ‘Racer’ in the moniker, the hot hatch will borrow the Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which puts out 120PS and 170Nm. Only a 6-speed manual transmission will be on offer, no automatic for now. But we won’t rule out the option of an AT being offered down the line.

Given the slew of feature additions and the bigger motor underneath the hood, the Altroz Racer will command a premium over the standard hatchback which retails between Rs 6.64 lakh and Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Its only rival will be the Hyundai i20 N Line.
