The newly launched Tata Altroz Racer has spiced up the hot-hatchback segment which was earlier dominated by just one other option, the Hyundai i20 N Line. With the entry of a powerful 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, and a competitive price range, the Tata Altroz Racer emerges as an alternative to few cross segment alternatives like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, which also gets a peppy fun to drive turbo-petrol engine.
For the comparison to be fair, in this article, we compare the price, features and powertrain specifications of the Taisor’s turbo-petrol variants as the Altroz Racer is available with the same.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Turbo petrol models start at Rs 10.55 lakh , which is Rs 1.06 lakh more expensive than the base variant of the Altroz Racer. Yes, the top-end Taisor is way more expensive than the Altroz Racer, but do note that the Toyota gets the option of an automatic transmission.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor gets a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine (90 PS and 113 Nm) mated to a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The Tata Altroz on the other hand gets a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (88 PS and 115 Nm) mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Additionally, it also gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine (90 PS and 200 Nm) mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
