The Tata Curvv is here! The Indian carmaker has finally revealed the the ICE-powered Curvv in full, giving us its design, interior, features and powertrain details. Only thing remaining now is the price, which will arrive on September 2. It’s going to be offered in four broad variants, bookings for which will open on August 12 and here are all the details about the ICE-powered Curvv:
Tata Curvv’s design hasn’t come too far from its concept, which is something you can’t say for a lot of cars. As a result, it looks modern and premium, and is poised to stand out from its rivals, primarily because of its SUV-coupe bodystyle.
The nose boasts some familiar elements shared with the Nexon and Harrier, but there are exclusive details as well. It gets a full width LED DRL, split LED headlights and a connected LED taillight, which also boasts the welcome and goodbye animation. There’s plenty of details in the grille and the bonnet gets some muscle as well.
The highlight of the side profile is the sloping roofline, which also integrates a split roof-mounted spoiler for further accentuating the sporty look of the SUV coupe. It sits on stylish 18-inch alloys which are covered by chunky piano black elements that follow into the side sills. Also, it comes with flush door handles, which is a first for a Tata car.
The upright tailgate houses the sleek LED tail light, while the reversing lights are placed below in the bumpers. Piano black elements are seen here as well and the bumper is finished with a silver-coloured skid plate below. It has a boot space of 500-litres.
We finally have a proper look at the cabin of the Tata Curvv, and as we had spied on previous occasions, the dashboard layout is similar to the Nexon, while the steering has been picked up from the Harrier. The infotainment system sits in the middle, with the touch sensitive AC controls housed below the horizontal vents.
Just like the new-age Tata SUVs, the Curvv too gets multiple theme options, depending on the persona (variant) selected. The cabin is adorned with ambient lighting, which runs across the dash and follows into the door pads as well. Let’s take a look at the slew of features that the Curvv packs.
Tata has made a tendency to go all out with features and it’s the same story with the Curvv. Highlights include 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, 9-speaker sound system, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger.
It’s no short on safety as well with equipment like six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS. The latter includes a blind spot monitor, the feed for which will be displayed on the driver’s cluster itself.
With the Curvv, Tata is debuting its new Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture (ATLAS) platform, which will boast multiple engine options, including two turbo petrol and a diesel engine.
The former includes the same 120PS 1.2-litre engine in the Nexon alongside a new 125PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit. All engines are paired to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT, but the latter is a first in the segment for a diesel engine.
Here’s a look at the specifications:

You’ll have to wait a tad more for the price announcement of the Tata Curvv, which will on September 2. We expect it to start around Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
When launched, it’ll rival the Citroen Basalt, and also other compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and MG Astor.
