Tata Reveals Sierra ICE Concept For The First Time At Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Tata Motors has revealed the Sierra ICE concept for the first time at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in New Delhi. The iconic nameplate returns in both ICE and all-electric avatar with the signature design cues taken from the original Sierra. The much-awaited SUV will enter the compact SUV segment and will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq to name a few. It is expected that Tata will launch the Sierra ICE sometime later this year.

Tata Sierra: Design

The Sierra ICE concept uses a design similar to the Sierra EV concepts showcased earlier, but this one being an ICE model, gets a host of distinguishing design touches. It stands out from the crowd being reminiscent of the original Sierra. Plus, the SUV takes some styling cues from Tata’s other models.

The Sierra gets a fairly upright front end, featuring an LED light bar running across its width and a grille that is reminiscent of other Tata cars. Other highlights include sleek headlights, and front bumper featuring a black and silver treatment. On the side, the Sierra shows off the signature design element from the original model – the rectangular side window. There are also flush door handles and dual-tone alloy wheels.

At the back, the Sierra comes with an LED light strip adjoining the sleek taillamps. The Sierra maintains the similar upright stance from the front to the rear end with a chunky rear bumper finished in piano black with a faux skid plate in silver.

Tata Sierra: Interior

The Sierra ICE concept features a dual-tone interior theme and a modern layout with a few styling cues matching some of its siblings, such as the Harrier and Safari. There is a four-spoke steering wheel, a dual-screen setup that consists of a fully digital driver’s display and an infotainment system, as well as ambient lighting.

In terms of features, Tata has bestowed the Sierra with features, such as a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, powered and ventilated front seats, connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and ambient lighting. Also on offer, as mentioned earlier is  a 12.3-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.

The Sierra ICE concept also gets modern-day safety equipment, namely 6 airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and driver attention warning. Also on offer is advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Tata Sierra: Powertrain

The Tata Sierra concept is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 170 PS and 280 Nm. A 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel powertrain with 170 PS and 350 Nm is also expected to be on the cards that powers the Harrier and Safari. Transmission options may include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Sierra ICE concept competes against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Citroen Basalt, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate.
