Tiago to get LED DRLs and projector headlamps from the Tigor.
The Tigor’s updates will include a new body shade, silver shade for the wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and a black roof.
Both models will get a new dual-tone black and beige interior theme with chrome door handles and new seat fabrics.
All updates will be limited to the top-spec XZ+/XZA+ variants.
While the Tata Tiago hatchback and Tigor sedan are set to get CNG options on January 19, 2022, another surprise is coming in the form of MY2022 updates to the two models. Ahead of its launch, we’ve got all the details on the updates on offer via a leaked brochure.
For starters, the common update for the Tiago and Tigor is the presence of a new dual-tone black and beige interior theme. This includes a splash of chrome on the door handles, and new seat fabrics. For the Tiago, it will now get LED DRLs on the lower bumper as well as projector headlights like the Tigor.
On the other hand, the Tigor gets the lion's share of updates which includes a new Magnetic Red body shade, Sonic Silver shade for the 15-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and a black roof.
Do note that all these updates will be limited to the top-spec XZ+/XZA+ variants for both models. Their upcoming CNG counterparts will also be fully loaded variants unlike its rivals.
Key features such as a flat bottom steering wheel, reverse camera assist, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Apple and Apple CarPlay as well as an 8-speaker sound system will be retained in the Tiago and Tigor.
Mechanically, the two models will be unchanged, running the 86PS 1.2-litre petrol engine with the option of a 5-speed manual and AMT automatic transmissions. The CNG models will run in a lower state of tune while in CNG mode.
Expect the MY2022 updates to the Tata Tiago and Tigor to incur a minor price increment over the current models that retail from Rs 5 lakh for the Tiago and Rs 5.67 lakh for the Tigor (both prices ex-showroom pan-India). The CNG models will likely incur a premium of Rs 90,000 over the standard petrol trims.
