The 2025 Ather 450 Put Through An Insane Track Attack Challenge Against a 160cc Bike and a 125cc Scooter

Ather Energy has just launched the 2025 Ather 450 electric scooter and it’s more capable and feature loaded than before. To take things even further, it’s being dubbed as ‘the bike of scooters’.  The 2025 Ather 450 just took on an insane challenge to showcase its enhanced capabilities with features like multi-mode traction control, magic twist, increased range to name a few, at Track Attack– a specially designed 4-part obstacle challenge which tested the Ather 450 to its limits. For this challenge, the 450 took on two 2 competitors - a 160cc sports motorcycle and a 125cc performance scooter, both of which are conventional petrol vehicles.

The 2025 Ather 450 conquered 4 different obstacles, including an off-road course, a traffic jam, a drag race and even a proper ramp jump - something that has been the domain of motorcycles till now, that’s why we are calling it “the bike of scooters”. The first challenge tested the Ather-450’s multimode traction control feature. It included 2 obstacles - the first was a dirt track, followed by a wet patch of asphalt and then a regular patch of track.

In this round, the 160cc bike and 125cc scooter faced a bit of trouble, but the Ather 450 took the lead right from the start. The scooter effortlessly crossed the dirt section, the water crossing, the rough patches and even the slippery tarmac couldn’t slow down the Ather, and the bike of scooters emerged victorious.

The second challenge was a test of handling and agility. The competitors had to ride through a makeshift traffic jam and then make their way into a construction site with all sorts of tight twists and turns to negotiate. After which, a seesaw awaited all three competitors. Once that was done, all three vehicles had to make their way through a crowded market. That’s not it, all three competitors also had to collect flags which were placed around the track and save themselves from a moving pendulum, putting them to the ultimate test of handling. 

While the 160cc bike struggled with a constant switch between clutch-brake and throttle and the 125cc scooter had difficulty navigating through small spaces and tight turns on the track. However, the Ather 450 easily won this round quite easily as well, thanks to its sharp handling, slim body and super smooth power delivery. The Ather 450’s magic twist throttle also helped in slowing down the scooter, eliminating the use of brakes.

The third challenge was a drag race between the 160cc bike, the 125cc scooter and the 2025 Ather 450X. It’s a 100 meter drag strip, which means this challenge tested the torque and acceleration of all three two-wheelers off the line. At the start, the Ather 450X took the lead, thanks to the availability of all its torque right from a standstill. The Ather 450 was followed by the 160cc bike, which was trying to catch up and the 125cc scooter was left behind. However, the 160cc bike caught up to the 450X by the end of the 100-meter track and just about overtook the scooter by the tiniest of margins and won the round. However, the Ather 450 gave a tough challenge to the 160cc bike in acceleration.

The fourth and last challenge tested the ruggedness and build of all 3 vehicles, along with their ability to accelerate quickly in a short distance. It featured a ramp jump with a run up distance of just 25 meters. The 160cc bike took the first jump. It gained a speed of around 40-45kmph and landed at a distance of 17.1 feet. The 125cc scooter also took the jump at a similar speed and could only go to a distance of 13.5 feet. AND…the Ather 450 managed to reach a speed of 50kmph in 25 meters and with the farthest jump, it landed at a distance of 18.5 feet. This challenge tested the Ather 450’s build quality, acceleration, suspension and its ability to handle big jumps.

Concluding with the Ather 450 taking the 1st place and winning the Track Attack challenge. It was truly a thrilling sight to watch. Giving the wide variety of obstacles involved, this challenge rigorously tested the capabilities of the 2025 Ather 450. From acceleration and magic twist to its agility, tyres, suspension and ruggedness. Moreover, the 2025 Ather 450 comes feature loaded as well. The scooter now gets the updated Ather Stack 6 software, which brings in even more features than before including Google Maps, Alexa integration, WhatsApp notifications on the scooter’s instrument cluster and more.
