The Mahindra Thar Is Set To Get 2 New Colour Options

• Thar to get Everest White and Blazing Bronze colour options. 
• Will be introduced when two-wheel-drive variants are launched.
• No changes to its design or features list.
• Will be offered with three engines: 2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre and 2.2-litre diesel.

Prices of the Mahindra Thar’s two-wheel-drive variants are set to be announced soon. And while introducing these new variants, Mahindra will also take this opportunity to tweak the SUV’s aesthetics by offering two new exterior hues. These new colours will be introduced when prices for the two-wheel-drive variants will be announced. 

The popular offroader’s two new hues are Everest White and Blazing Bronze (same as the XUV300). These colours will join the existing lineup of options that includes Red Rage, Dark Grey, Napoli Black, Aqua Marine, and Rocky Marine. Which of these new colour options do you like? No other change has been made to the exterior or interior design as well as the features list. Top highlights include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electronically operated manual air-conditioning, cruise control, and multi-info display. Safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a roll cage. 

With the introduction of two-wheel drive variants on the horizon, the Thar will be offered with three powertrain options: a 2-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre diesel (new), and 2.2-litre diesel. To make life easier, we have compiled a table with all the detailed specifications:

The Thar 1.5-litre diesel unit and its sub-4 metre length means it will be positioned in a lower tax slab. Therefore, we expect entry-level pricing to drop from Rs 13.59 lakh to around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV continues to rival the Force Gurkha, while it will soon face competition from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny five-door that is expected to debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.
