The subcompact SUV segment has grown rapidly in the past couple of years, making it one of the fiercest segments in the Indian car market. Brands in the segment have continuously kept on improving and updating their products to keep up with the segment’s demands. In this article, we are going to take you through the features that the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO packs over the Hyundai Venue, which in itself is a very well-equipped SUV. Let’s take a look at what these features are:
The Mahindra XUV 3XO features a segment-first panoramic sunroof, while the Hyundai Venue gets a single-pane sunroof. The addition of a panoramic sunroof uplifts the cabin feel of the XUV 3XO and makes it feel upmarket. Plus, lower variants of the XUV 3XO also come with a sunroof, albeit a single-pane one.
The XUV 3XO gets a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), being the first in the segment to get it. The ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. The Venue also gets ADAS, but its suite isn’t as advanced as that of the 3XO.
The XUV 3XO comes equipped with a larger touchscreen information system, which is a 10.25-inch unit. The Venue, on the other hand, gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both the SUVs get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrated within the systems.
The XUV 3XO features an electronic brake, which is a bit easier to use than the traditional handbrake lever offered on the Venue. Along with the electronic parking brake, you also get an auto-hold function which is a very convenient feature for stop-and-go traffic.
The XUV 3XO packs a dual-zone climate control, meaning the driver and co-driver can set their preferred temperature setting respectively. The Venue features a single-zone climate control.
The XUV 3XO offers a fully digital drivers display, with plenty of info and multiple view options. The Venue, on the other hand, gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with a multi-information display (MID).
The XUV 3XO comes with a 360-degree camera, which has become a popular feature these days and makes parking and maneuvering through traffic a much easier job. In the Venue, you will have to rely only on the reverse parking camera to park your vehicle.
The XUV 3XO boasts a premium Harman Kardon 7-speaker audio system, which will satisfy all the audiophiles. The Venue features a regular 6-speaker sound system.
The XUV 3XO gets front parking sensors which, along with the 360-degree camera, makes parking the SUV a cakewalk. The Venue only gets rear parking sensors.
The XUV 3XO features a 65 W USB-C fast charging port, which is well capable of charging a laptop device. Meanwhile, the Venue does not get a fast charging port, and will keep you waiting for longer to top up your phone battery.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is priced from Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Venue is priced from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.44 lakh (ex-showroom). Both these SUVs rival the likes of Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO, with the facelift is one of the most equipped SUVs in the segment and provides a tough competition to its rivals. To check it out, you can head over to our review.
