It’s yet another recall from Maruti within a span of just over a month. This time around, the manufacturer is recalling 17,362 vehicles due to a faulty airbag controller. The affected models include the Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, and Grand Vitara; all the models that have been manufactured between December 08 and January 12.
A faulty airbag controller could result in the airbags and seat belt pretensioners not deploying in the unfortunate event of a crash. Maruti’s authorised service centres would contact affected vehicles, inspect the faulty part, and if replacement is required, it will be done at no cost at all.

The carmaker has advised owners of these suspected vehicles to not drive their car until the part has been inspected. Considering that this part is safety related, we would suggest owners of these affected models get their vehicles inspected at the earliest.
