Ola Electric has announced that they have tallied 3,000 unit sales already for the S1 Air after opening the purchase window on July 27. The initial purchase window will remain open till July 30th and the e-scooter will be available at an introductory price of Rs 1,09,999 ex-showroom (inclusive of FAME 2 subsidy) till then.
From 31st July onwards, the e-scooter will be available at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1,19,999. Deliveries for the same will start from early August, 2023. With the arrival of the Ola S1 Air, the EV maker has discontinued the Ola S1. Now you only have the entry-level S1 Air and the top-end S1 Pro to choose from.
The S1 Air is the most affordable model in Ola’s lineup and as such, it gets a 3kWh capacity battery pack (compared to the 4kWh unit in the S1 Pro) and a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 125km in Eco mode and 100km in Normal mode. The hub-mounted motor is a 2.7kW unit with a peak power output of 4.5kW and a top speed of 90kmph. It has a charging time of 5 hours and a boot space capacity of 34 litres.
The suspension duties are handled by a conventional telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. Braking duties are taken care of by drum brakes at both ends. Ola has also introduced a new Neon colour option for the S1 Air. It also gets a flat floorboard with black-coloured body cladding, a single-piece pillion grab rail and steel wheels instead of alloy wheels. The Ola S1 Air’s rivals are the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube (base variant) and the Okinawa Okhi90 among e-scooters and the Honda Activa 6G and the TVS Jupiter in the ICE scooter segment.
