This Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Is A Street Glide In Disguise

A modified Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has taken the internet by storm and the bike looks like a Harley-Davidson Street Glide in disguise. Nicknamed as ‘Royal Lion’, a Nashik based workshop called Hemant Motorcycle Works have modified this Super Meteor extensively. 

A Complete Design Overhaul

The modified Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 looks nothing like a stock motorcycle. Inspired by the Harley-Davidson Street Glide, a bagger styled motorcycle, the modified Super Meteor gets a similar design language. At the front, you get a new front fender which is bigger than the stock one and covers a quarter of the wheel. The headlight is stock but gets a large fairing surrounding it which makes the bike look even bigger than it already is. The legguard is modified as well which houses a new body panel and a fog lamp on either side to increase the visibility. At the rear, the bike gets large swooping side boxes and a completely new topbox with an additional rack on top of it. The seats are new and have a quilted finish to them. The rear seat is especially a special place to be with the seat being integrated into the topbox providing the pillion with back support. The overall design is completed by silencer extensions which are mounted directly on the exhaust pipe to give it an enlarged look. 

Engine and Underpinnings

The engine and underpinnings of the modified Super Meteor 650 remain unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 648cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 47PS and 52.3Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. It gets an inverted telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers. The stock bike weighs in at 241kg kerb but this modified Super Meteor weighs quite a bit more. How much do you ask? All the modifications have added 60-70kg to the overall weight and it now weighs around 300kg. Mind you, the suspension unit is still stock. 

Extensive Feature List

The stock Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 gets a small features list which includes a LED headlight and tail light, and dual-channel ABS. But the modified one is quite feature rich. It gets a set of speakers which have a total output of 1200W, foglights on the side boxes, a TFT display which is Android Auto/ Apple Carplay compatible, 1080p resolution dash cameras at both ends and a tyre pressure monitoring system for both tyres. 

Price

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 starts from Rs 3,63,900 up to Rs 3,94,347 (both prices ex-showroom, Chennai). If you wish to modify your ride in such a way as well, get ready to shell out around Rs 2,70,000. Just for your reference, for this amount you can get a completely new Triumph Speed T4 and have some money left for fuel.
