Has been a very eventful week in the EV two wheeler segment!

The biggest talking point from this week’s launches for sure was the Honda Activa e:, the electric version of its ever popular conventional ICE scooter, the Activa.

Honda Activa e: & QC1

Honda India finally unveiled the Activa’s electric version, the Honda Activa e:. Alongside it, they also revealed the Honda QC1. The Activa e: features dual 1.5kWh swappable batteries, a 6kW mid-mounted motor and a claimed top speed of 80km/h. The QC1 on the other hand gets a single 1.5kWh fixed battery pack, a 250W rear wheel hub-mounted motor and a top speed of 50km/h.

Royal Enfield unveiled the Scram 440 at Motoverse 2024. It replaces the Scram 411 and it is based upon the same platform. It gets a 443cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine producing 25.4PS and 34Nm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The underpinnings are same, with a telescopic fork and a monoshock. It gets a 300mm front and 240mm rear disc.

Updated River Indie

Bengaluru based startup River recently updated the Indie, their electric scooter, with a chain drive system in place of a belt that was present previously. It also now gets a dedicated reverse mode button and 2 new colours: Winter White and Storm Grey.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Price Cut

Kawasaki India slashed the prices of their litre-class superbike, the Ninja ZX-10R, by Rs 1.14 lakh this week.

New Ola Electric Scooters

S1 Z & Z+

Ola Electric unveiled 2 new scooters as part of the existing S1 range. The Ola S1 Z and Ola S1 Z+ both feature Ola’s new swappable battery tech. The battery pack is of 1.5kWh and you have the option of using either a single battery or dual battery packs

Ola Gig & Gig+

Along with the Z range, Ola also revealed the Ola Gig and Ola Gig+. These 2 are aimed at the B2B segment and also feature the same removable battery tech as the S1 Z and Z+.
