Chinese bikemaker Zontes has launched the ZT125-M, an attractive-looking maxi scooter, in France. While it looks every bit menacing with an aggressive face and LED DRLs acting as its eyes, it actually looks very similar to the Kymco KRV 180i, a maxi-styled scooter that was launched last year.
Underneath the gorgeous bodywork is a 125cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 14.6PS, the exact same as India’s most powerful 125cc bike, the KTM 125 Duke. If that sounded impressive, wait till you hear that it gets disc brakes, dual channel ABS and 14-inch wheels at both ends. Heck, it even gets a large TFT screen, keyless ignition, twin USB charging ports and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Have these specs had us excited? Absolutely yes! Will it come here? You see, Adishwar Auto Ride India, which brought brands like Benelli, Keeway, Moto Morini and Zontes, has bikes from 125cc to 650cc in its Indian portfolio. So it could very well be aiming to fill its low-capacity scooter void by bringing the ZT125-M to India. However, it will surely be pricey.
