Top 5 Best Selling Big Bikes In India: December 2022

The Indian two-wheeler market is predominantly ruled by the commuter and other premium small-capacity segments.  While the big bike segment only accounts for a fraction of the sales, it's likely to grow with time. As for last month, there were two manufacturers that stood out from the rest.

Kawasaki reached new highs last month by selling 33 units of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R – pegged as the most affordable litre-class bike money can buy in India. The well-known Z900 secured the second place thanks to its sweet inline-four heart along with modern electronic aids in its latest iteration. 

The 2022 Versys 650 made it to the top five too. It gets a revised front fairing inspired by the bigger Versys 1000, a new and sharper engine cowl, a 4.3-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging and a two-stage traction control system. More on the bike here.

Though the Tiger Sport 660 is Triumph's most affordable sports tourer, it managed to rack up as many sales as its rival, the Versys 650, which costs Rs 1.41 lakh less.

The British marque’s most affordable offering didn’t do too badly either. The Trident 660 managed to make it in the last place on today's list, not bad considering Triumph bumped the price of the bike in  February 2022. The bike now starts from Rs 7.45 lakh, and goes up to Rs 7.58 lakh (ex-showroom India) depending on the colourway. You can read all about the bike in our review here.
