Tata Motors has revived the legendary Sierra nameplate with the unveiling of the Sierra concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This modern take retains the iconic design cues of the 1991 original, like its bold stance and rugged charm, while embracing a practical five-door layout and cutting-edge technology.
Featuring sleek LED lighting, a futuristic floating three-screen dashboard, and advanced safety features, the Sierra ICE promises a blend of nostalgia and innovation.
With a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and potential diesel and EV variants, this versatile SUV is set to take on rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Tata Sierra price is expected to be around Rs 11 lakh.
Tata Motors unveiled the Avinya all-electric concept at the Auto Expo 2025, offering a futuristic glimpse of what their EV future holds. Built on JLR’s new EMA (Electric Modular Architecture) platform, Avinya’s innovative design can accommodate multiple body styles, blending modern aesthetics with sustainability.
The minimalist interior features eco-friendly materials, airy colour schemes, and a screen-integrated steering wheel for a lounge-like experience.
With an expected real-world range of over 500 km and versatile drivetrain options, the Avinya concept is expected to be launched sometime around 2026.
Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its first-ever electric SUV, the Maruti e Vitara, at the Auto Expo 2025.
Set to launch by March 2025 with prices expected around Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), the e Vitara combines rugged yet modern styling, a premium dual-tone interior with advanced features like dual floating screens, Level-2 ADAS, ventilated seats, and a Harman/Kardon sound system.
Available with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs offering a range of over 500 km, the e Vitara rivals the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric, marking a significant step forward for Maruti in the EV market.
VinFast has unveiled the VF6 all-electric compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2025, ahead of its expected launch later this year.
Positioned below the VF7, the VF6 features sleek LED lighting, a sporty dual-tone exterior, and a premium 5-seater cabin with soft-touch materials, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, and Level-2 ADAS.
Powered by a 59.6 kWh battery, it delivers 204 PS and 410 km of range in international markets. Expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), the VF6 will take on competitors like the Hyundai Creta EV and MG ZS EV in India's growing EV segment.
MG Motor India has unveiled its first all-electric sportscar, the Cyberster, at the Auto Expo 2025, with pre-bookings now open.
This high-performance two-door convertible, available exclusively at MG Select showrooms, boasts a dual-motor AWD setup delivering 510 PS, 725 Nm, and a WLTP-claimed range of 443 km from its 77 kWh battery.
It accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, with a chassis fine-tuned by ex-F1 engineer Marco Fainello. Sporting scissor doors, futuristic interiors with a triple-screen dashboard, and iconic MG design cues, the Cyberster redefines modern performance and luxury, rivalling cars like the BMW Z4.
Hyundai has launched the much-awaited Creta Electric (Creta EV launched) at Auto Expo 2025, with prices starting at Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Available in four variants and 10 colour options, the EV offers two battery packs — 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh — with a claimed range of up to 473 km.
Powered by an electric motor delivering up to 171 PS, it accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. The feature-packed SUV includes dual 10.25-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and Level-2 ADAS. With a sleek design and eco-friendly powertrain, the Creta Electric takes on rivals like the MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV.
