Auto Expo 2024 is just around the corner and we at ZigWheels are quite excited to see what scooters will be showcased. In this article, we will be going over a list of 5 scooters that we are most excited about this year.
The Hero Xoom 160 is the scooter we are quite excited about. The biggest thing about this scooter is its design and styling, which makes it look like a proper maxi-style scooter that you would see in the streets of Europe. It gets a split-LED headlight setup, along with the massive-looking apron and windscreen.
It will be powered by a 156cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 14PS and 13.7Nm. This engine will be Hero’s first liquid-cooled motor on a scooter, and it will also put the scooter at par with 150-160cc motorcycles in terms of performance.
The scooter overall, looks quite promising and can strengthen the maxi-scooter segment in India.
Ola has always had some surprises for us, and at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 we expect the brand to showcase something new. It could most likely be their newest addition to the S1 lineup, the Ola S1 Z.
What makes this electric scooter special is the swappable battery setup it will get. The S1 Z is powered by a 1.5kWh battery pack, and customers will also have the option to upgrade to a dual 1.5kWh swappable battery pack as well.
We are quite excited to see how Ola’s swappable battery setup works. Hopefully Ola’s example will make more EV manufacturers look into bringing swappable batteries to their scooters as well.
The Honda Activa e or the Honda Activa Electric, has been one scooter which we have been waiting for since… well for a very long time. We were expecting the electric scooter to be launched last year, but that didn’t happen.
We were expecting a launch by the end of January, as the brand had announced that they will begin deliveries from February. Now it looks like we could see it coming to India, sooner than we expected, with a potential launch during Auto Expo 2025.
Overall, the Honda Activa e will be one of the most exciting e-scooters to look forward to. That said, the deliveries of the scooter will begin in a phased manner. It will be available in the following cities, Bengaluru, followed by Delhi and then Mumbai. Honda is doing this, as their battery swap network has been set up in these cities.
The Hero Destini 125 had received some much needed updates recently, with a more premium design and styling. The scooter was launched recently as well, and that too at an affordable price tag.
We are looking forward to seeing it as it is one scooter which we had been eagerly waiting for, since we had a chance to ride it in 2024.
The Hero Vida Z is an upcoming family-oriented electric scooter, which will offer a swappable battery setup. The e-scooter was first unveiled at EICMA2024, along with the upcoming Hero XPulse 210, the Hero Xtreme 250R and the Hero Karizma XMR 250.
The e-scooter has a minimalist design and styling which looks pretty nice. The Vida Z will be offered with swappable battery packs ranging from 2.2kWh to 4.4kWh. We are expecting the Vida Z to be priced near the Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which should make it quite a sweet deal.
